Protein Pasta

I love pasta. I don't know many people that don't. The problem is it gets a bad rap for "making you fat." Which is utter garbage. You can eat pasta and not get fat. You're just eating the wrong pasta (and probably too much of it). This protein pasta recipe uses a naturally high-protein pasta with the combination of extra lean beef sausages to bring it home at nearly 35g of protein per serve. Added veggies make this meal extra nutritious and super filling, perfect for someone in a caloric deficit looking to stay full for hours after eating.

What's in it?

Protein Pasta
High Protein Pasta

1 Packet Pastifico Extra Di Lusso High Protein Fusilli (Or other high protein pasta)

1 Packet 6 Grassfed Extra Lean Beef Sausages

1 Red Capscium Roughly Chopped

1 Zuchini Roughly Chopped

1 Red Onion Roughly Chopped

2 Cloves Garlic or 2 Tsp Crushed Garlic

1 Can Crushed Tomatoes

2 Tbsp Tomato Paste

1 Tbsp Olive Oil

2 Tsp Paprika

2 Tsp Mixed Herbs

1/2 Tsp Citric Acid

3 Tsp Sweetener of choice (I use Stevia)

Salt & Pepper to taste

Let's Cook

Cook up the Sausages and pasta first. Get a pan on medium heat with the sausages in and cover with a lid in between turning them to get an even cook through without burning the sides of the sausages. Whilst you're doing this, bring your pasta water to the boil with 2-3 tsp salt in the water. Cook the pasta until it's aldente. Whilst these two are cooking, start to roughly chop your veggies. In a separate pan, sauté the garlic and vegetables in olive oil for 2-3 minutes before adding in the tomato paste, the crushed tomatoes and the spices and extras. Cover with a lid to let the veggies soften for 2-3 minutes. Once the sausages are cooked, chop them into meatball-sized portions and stir them through the sauce mix. Once both the pasta and sauce mix is cooked, all you need to do is combine the two! I like to get a bigger pot to do this. This serves 5.
